I was an Archie Comics fanatic, to the extent that I once sent one of those doofy pictures of myself surrounded by hundreds of comic books in for the “Collectors” section. 

So in September, they’re introducing a full-color cartoon homosexual, Kevin Keller, to the lineup of Archie and the gang! 

Kevin: [Veronica’s] not so bad… I’m just not interested in dating her.
Jughead: Veronica’s not going to let that stop her!
Kevin: It’s nothing against her! I’m gay! I guess I should just be upfront.

And as ComicsBeat reports, all press releases regarding Kevin Keller state that he is the first “openly” gay character in Riverdale, so the jury’s still out on Jughead. Huzzah!
